Our Process

From acceptance to delivery—how we protect value, authenticity, and condition

At NY Elizabeth, every lot passes through a structured, multi-stage process designed to protect buyers and preserve long-term value. Unlike marketplaces that simply list and ship, we operate as a curated online auction house with in-house authentication, quality control, and post-sale verification.

This process is why clients trust us  and why shipments typically leave our facility within 10–15 business days after auction close and payment is complete.

1. Lot Acceptance

Only top-condition pieces enter our auctions

We accept only lots that meet our condition, brand, and market-liquidity standards.

What we evaluate:

• Physical condition and wear
• Brand, collection, and market demand
• Authenticity indicators and serial integrity
• Prior repairs or alterations
• Resale and auction suitability

Pieces that do not meet our standards are declined before they ever reach the auction floor. This protects buyers from uncertainty and sellers from poor outcomes.

2. Authentication & Intake Verification

Brand-specific verification before listing

Every accepted lot undergoes authentication at intake.

This includes:

• Hallmark and stamp verification
• Serial number and engraving review
• Construction and materials analysis
• Brand-specific design consistency checks
• Cross-reference against known brand archives and references

Only after authentication is complete does a piece move into catalog production.

3. Photography, Cataloging & Illustration

Presenting each lot with clarity and transparency

Each lot is professionally prepared for auction presentation:

• High-resolution studio photography
• material and size specifications
• Brand and collection identification

This stage ensures buyers know exactly what they are bidding on  visually and descriptively.

4. Live Auction

Competitive bidding with full transparency.

Lots are offered during scheduled live auctions, with:

• Real-time bidding
• Binding bid records
• Transparent buyer premiums

Once the hammer falls, the lot moves immediately into post-sale handling.

5. Post-Sale Final Authentication

A second verification before release

Before any lot leaves our custody, it undergoes

final authentication.

This step confirms:
• The sold item matches the cataloged lot exactly
• No post-auction handling issues occurred
• All components are present and correct
• Condition matches the auction description

This second examination is critical  and one of the reasons buyers trust NY Elizabeth.

6. Cleaning & Preparation (If Required)

Preserving presentation without altering originality

Preserving presentation without altering originality

If appropriate, pieces may receive:
• Light professional cleaning
• Safe presentation preparation
• Non-invasive cosmetic care

No structural changes or value-altering work is ever performed.

7. Secure Packaging & Handover to Carriers

White-glove packing and insured transfer

Each lot is:

• Carefully packaged for transit
• Matched with the correct shipping method
• Prepared for insured, tracked delivery
• Handed directly to approved shipping partners

Only after all internal checks are complete does a package leave our facility.

Why Shipping Takes 10–15 Business Days

Quality control takes time  by design

The 10–15 business day window allows us to:

• Complete post-sale authentication
• Perform cleaning and presentation prep if needed
• Coordinate international logistics
• Ensure secure packaging and insured handoff

This timeline protects buyers and preserves long-term value.

Our Global Locations & Logistics Flow

NY Elizabeth operates across London, Tokyo, Stockholm, and Los Angeles.

How this process affects timing:

• Certain lots originate or are inspected in London, Stockholm or Tokyo

• All outbound shipments to clients are finalized through our Los Angeles facility unless stated in the description of the lot.

• Items must arrive at our LA facility by specific internal cutoff dates to make scheduled shipment windows

This centralized release point ensures consistent authentication, compliance, and shipping standards for all buyers worldwide.

The Result

Confidence, clarity, and consistency —our process is designed for collectors, not impulse buyers.

Every step exists to protect authenticity, condition, and trust  before and after the auction.

That’s why clients buy from NY Elizabeth.

And that’s why we take the time to do it right.
